Salesforce Developer (Local Candidates only - DALLAS, TX)

Job Title: Salesforce Developer – Disease Surveillance Systems

POSITION TYPE: Full Time – W2 Employee

LOCATION: Onsite - Dallas, TX

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Salesforce Developer to support and enhance a custom-built Disease Surveillance System within the Health & Human Sciences division. This role will focus on maintaining, optimizing, and expanding a Salesforce-based public health platform used for tracking, monitoring, reporting, and analyzing communicable and non-communicable diseases.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting complex Salesforce implementations in regulated environments and a strong understanding of data security, reporting, and system integrations.

Key Responsibilities:

Salesforce Platform Support & Development

  • Administer and support a customized Salesforce environment (Health Cloud).
  • Develop and maintain custom objects, fields, validation rules, flows, Apex classes, and Lightning Web Components.
  • Manage case management workflows for disease investigations and reporting.
  • Optimize automation using Flow Builder and Process Builder.
  • Maintain role hierarchies, sharing rules, and field-level security to ensure HIPAA-aligned data governance.

Disease Surveillance System Support

  • Support data intake processes for laboratory reports, provider reports, and electronic case reporting (eCR).
  • Configure dashboards and reports for epidemiologists, public health officials, and executive leadership.
  • Support outbreak management workflows and contact tracing modules.
  • Ensure accurate disease classification, case status tracking, and reporting compliance.

Integration & Data Management

  • Support integrations with:
  • Electronic Health Records (EHRs)
  • State and federal reporting systems (e.g., HL7/FHIR interfaces)
  • Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
  • Manage data imports, data quality processes, and deduplication.
  • Work with APIs, middleware tools (e.g., MuleSoft), and ETL processes like Informatica.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity across systems.

Compliance & Security

  • Ensure compliance with:
  • Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
  • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reporting standards
  • State-level public health regulations
  • Implement audit trails and monitoring processes.
  • Conduct periodic security reviews and access audits.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with epidemiologists, public health analysts, IT security teams, and external vendors.
  • Translate public health requirements into technical Salesforce solutions.
  • Provide user training and documentation.
  • Participate in system enhancement planning and roadmap discussions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Public Health Informatics, or related field.
  • 10+ years of Salesforce Developer experience.
  • Salesforce Consultant Certification (required).
  • Experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components, and Flow.
  • Experience working with secure health data environments.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases and data architecture.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Salesforce Platform Developer I Certification.
  • Experience supporting public health or disease surveillance systems.
  • Familiarity with HL7, FHIR, and public health data standards.
  • Experience with government or higher education institutions.
  • Knowledge of epidemiology workflows or case management systems.
