Enterprise Architect (LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY - DALLAS, TX)

Position Overview

15 years + Experience in Enterprise Architecture, Data and Cloud Platforms. As an Enterprise Architect (EA), you will be the strategic glue between business goals and IT execution. You won’t just be looking at individual servers or apps; you’ll be designing the "city plan" for our entire digital ecosystem. Your mission is to ensure that our technology stack is scalable, secure, and—most importantly—aligned with where the company wants to be in five years

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Road mapping: Develop and maintain a holistic view of the Dallas County IT organization’s strategy, processes, information, and assets.
  • Architecture Governance: Define and enforce standards, design patterns, Architecture Review Board management, and "golden paths" to reduce technical debt and architectural sprawl.
  • Technology Lifecycle Management: Decide when to adopt emerging technology and partner with Infrastructure Operations team to coordinate efforts to sunset legacy systems.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Bridge the gap between C-suite executives and engineering teams, translating business "asks" into technical "how’s."
  • Solutions Oversight: Review high-level designs for major projects to ensure they fit into the broader enterprise framework.
  • EA Projects Oversight: Review high-level designs for major IT projects and coordinate with IT Application Executive Leadership teams to deliver IT projects aligned to Enterprise architecture principals.
  • Cloud Expertise (AWS and Azure): Define and enforce Cloud standards, design Cloud patterns, Cloud Architecture and Well architected Framework review and coordinate efforts with CSO, CPO and Data Engineering teams to set the Cloud Standards for IT Modernizations

Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years in IT, with 5-6 years in a formal Enterprise Architecture role.
  • Mastery of cloud ecosystems (AWS/Azure), microservices, Data standards, IT Governance, Security Architecture, Architecture Guidance, Security and data integration patterns.
  • Proficiency in TOGAF, ITIL and Data Architecture Frameworks.
  • High-level "influencing without authority" and the ability to explain complex tech to non-techies.
  • AWS Solutions Architecture Pro Certifications(mandatory), TOGAF preferred(optional), Databricks/Snowflake (optional)
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in CS, MIS, MBA or a related field (or equivalent battle-hardened experience).
